Lolita “Counting Chemtrails” EP Release w/ Eli Cook Band, The Chuggernauts, Mark Coffman
Venue: The Ante Room
Address: 219 W. Water St. Charlottesville, VA 22902
Lolita – Lolita, the three piece rock project originally out of Charlottesville, Va., recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY, blends together groove based Hard Rock with powerful hooks and poignant melody. Fronted by Will Nealy (the Defectives, Sinclairity), they deliver meaningful lyrics backed by strong intricate musical progressions. A project that has been in the works for almost ten years by Nealy and bassist Jeff White (the Defectives, From Here on Blue), Lolita is finally breaking into the public scene with the heavy hitting, abstract yet almost tribal, dynamics of drummer Michael Dominque.
Eli Cook Band – Fresh off the release of his new full length “High-Dollar Gospel”, Eli Cook is a triple threat of a musician with fingers of gold on the guitar and a grit-filled voice that whispers, screams and seduces with powerful songs. “Artists often talk about the blues as a living and growing thing and not just a style of music fit for museums. Cook puts that theory into practice and moves things forward.”- Slant Magazine
The Chuggernauts – Like a British version of US Biker Rock with some Zack Wylde-era Ozzy Osbourne thrown in for good measure. For fans of Alabama Thunderpussy, Black Label Society, and beer in general.
Mark Coffman – Mark has been a regular face in the Charlottesville music scene for years, most notably as the front man for From Here on Blue. He draws influences from a diverse range of musical like from Jason Isbell, to Oasis, to Stone Temple Pilots.
