May The Fourth Be With You Ep (S)IX: A Celebration Of The Music Of Sci-Fi

Not so far in the future, in a galaxy not so far away…

A Celebration of the Music of Science Fiction was planned, featuring songs about aliens, robots, lasers, time travel, and everything in-between; soundtrack themes from movies; and campy pop tunes played by bands in movies. It was all fair game.

Several brave, brave souls stepped up to join in on this venture…

Astronomers – Astronomers are a rock band from Charlottesville, Virginia. They write progressive pop songs with guitars and bass and drums and sweet melodies.

Stray Fossa – “Comprised of brothers and childhood friends Nick Evans, Will Evans, and Zach Blount, Stray Fossa seamlessly blends smooth singer/songwriter melodies with a driving, gritty, indie rock vibe to create a complex, exciting sound. As a result of growing up playing music together in Sewanee, Tennessee, and taking a few years hiatus, Stray Fossa is an amalgamation of self-discovery as people and musicians, a new project acting as a celebratory reunion of personalities and musical styles.” – Grace Seekins

YonderPhonics – YonderPhonics, from the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville VA, brings you driving rhythms & musical themes the likes of George Gershwin via The Black Keys; the ‘Yonder Sound’ is punctuated by rich lyricism reminiscent of Leonard Cohen & Fiona Apple.

Dogfuck – Dense bizarro rap from Phil Green of Cog Diss fame and glory. Fuck, not fucker.

Little Graves – Little Graves is an intense power trio that juxtaposes influences from punk, post-punk, grunge, prog rock, psychedelia, and noise with musique concrete, samples, and field recordings

The Ragnarockers – The finest jam band in Valhalla returns with some of the best “funky/jazzy blu-pop” they could pull from Mimir’s well without losing too many eyes.

Goddess Ov Mindxpansion metal soloist singer songwriter from crozet, va doom, thrash, old school death metal, 90s feminist inspired lyrics.
